Paigelac – Fishing Project
In partnership with the African Development Bank and the Ministry of Agriculture, this two year project targets rural poverty throughout Rwanda. Developing co-operatives and supporting them through the legal recognition process – via the Rwanda Co-operative Agency – this is a scheme to develop sustainable fish farming.
ATEDEC provide technical training and assistance to create man made lakes for fishing. Best practice techniques are shared by ATEDEC and between co-operatives to protect the environment and to increase production quality and quantity. Marketing advice is provided to ensure the best selling strategies are used.
We have created 132 co-operatives and between them they have more than 13,000 members!
